研究のヴィジョン

'Who controls culture?' This is the defining theme of my research, whether it be in the classical World of modern Kabuki and Bunraku, or the popular arena of TV, film and animation.

I am primarily engaged in interviews and ethnographies to examine both professional and consumer experiences of media important, past and present: contributing to the increasingly important archives on cultural studies which have previously been woefully disregarded.

教育のヴィジョン

Non scholae sed vitae discimus - "We do not learn for school but for life!"

Encouraging curiosity and facilitating the desire to live education beyond the classroom, beyond graduation and beyond employment. Self Improvement must be self motivated and re-affirmed every day of our lives. Our role as educators is to drop the pebbles that start the landslide of this great realization.

主な教育?指導

Creativity in the history of film, theater and animation.

社會活動のヴィジョン

To encourage students to go beyond to class and campus to engage with the community - formally and informally - in ways which will shatter the normal views both the culture and society of Japan
